2013 Texas League of the South Conference Re-Cap...

2013 Texas League of the South Conference Re-Cap
The 2013 Texas League of the South Conference was highly successful, informative and enlightening. The Conference started with Daniel New acting as Master of Ceremonies. He started with a word of appreciation for the sponsors of the event, identifying each of them by name and encouraging attendees to support them. After the initial greetings, the conference opened with an invocation by Pastor Weaver. After the invocation, there was personal message from Dr. Michael Hill for the Texas League, the work being done and his appreciation for those taking a leading role in that work. Pastor Weaver began his first talk with a passage from Romans (Romans 13:1-4). He shared Scriptural passages and historical anecdotes regarding tyranny and ways of responding to tyranny. His examples included references to the Fairfax Resolves, which he encouraged all the attendees to read. Along with other historic examples, he discussed the differences between secession and rebellion.  While elaborating on rebellion, he pointed out that “rebellion is only to lawful authority”.  In addressing the issue of tyranny, he elaborated on the God-given responsibilities of government along with what our God-given responsibilities are. The second speaker was Dwayne Stovall, who shared his experiences from the recent election where he ran for office. He also elaborated on trends he is seeing in other groups as well, noting that all major groups in Texas have positions on the secession issue, with the major difference being the time tables they are considering. He also elaborated on the recent legislative session in the Texas Legislature noting the bills and concerns of interest to achieving local sovereignty. A matter which he brought up worth noting is the amount of debt owed by Texas along with the source of that debt, which consists mainly of school districts and municipal bonds. After a brief break, the conference resumed with author David Thomas Roberts. He shared personal experiences and anecdotes related to his book “Patriots of Treason”.  His personal experiences included dealings with various federal agencies and publishing firms. He also elaborated on the various perceptions of his book and Texas in other parts of the country that his travels take him to. Two of his books were offered for an auction. The auction soon became lively as the bidders sought a prized ‘first edition’ of his book. A representative from the Tenth Amendment...

Reason #3 to Attend our 2013 Conference

Reason #3 to Attend our 2013 Conference
To all Texans (and lesser folk who find themselves in this State): We’ve already given you two great reasons to attend the conference this coming Saturday. Sure, you can use the inspiration (#1), and you can use the education (#2) – either one makes it worth the trip to Magnolia, Texas, even if you live in Texarkana (315 miles) or Brownsville (384 miles) or Amarillo (603 miles) or El Paso (707 miles).  But you may already be on information overload, you may already be so motivated that you can’t find minutes in the day to do more.  Here’s another reason to attend:  NETWORKING! If your WCS (worst-case-scenario) comes to pass, you are going to need friends.  You may have to relocate, and if you don’t, many others will.  Survival may depend to a large degree on who you know.  My WCS includes Zombies, so I definitely need to know who is passing the motion detector at my gate.  You may be thinking of a hurricane.  Remember IKE in Texas?  Many Texans were refugees with no place to go.  Churches and schools all over Texas opened up temporary shelters.  But those who knew someone weren’t refugees, there were merely “in transit” to a point of hospitality.  Huge difference. There are social and political and survival implications in networking with folks around the state.  But you can’t do that by sitting out this important weekend, hoping that the League will record these sessions and make them available. If you are a paid League of the South member, and if you come to this conference and don’t think it was worth your money, I’ll personally offer you your admission money back.  How’s that for a no-risk guarantee? http://texasls.org/2013/03/july-conference-savethe-date.html Daniel New past State Chairman Curmudgeon-at-Large PS.  We now have a 50% off offer:  if you really, really can’t make it, then please calculate the amount of money you would have spent on gas, meals, motel and admission; and send a cheque for HALF that amount (along with your annual membership renewal) to: League of the South Post Office Box 760 Killen, Alabama...

Why Attend the 2013 Texas League of the South Conference?...

Why Attend the 2013 Texas League of the South Conference?
Reason #2 – 17th Amendment We all need a reality check from time to time.  You will not hear these fundamental arguments of constitutional liberty at “conservative rallies”.  They’ve been drinking the Kool-Aid for too long. Q:  Who created the Federal Government, which became “the united States of America”? A:  The sovereign States, acting in the interest of, and upon the authority delegated to them by The People.[1] Q:  What guarantee did the States have that the Servant – the federal government – could not abuse its Masters, which were The People and The States? A bicameral legislature, with one house representing The People (House of Representatives) and the other house representing the interests of The States (Senate).  Either house was able to check the power of the national government. What single amendment to the Constitution destroyed that balance of power, stripping the States of all authority and voice in Congress? The Seventeenth Amendment. How many of your friends understand that the Republic known as the United States of America was utterly destroyed by the 17th Amendment?  The balance of power shifted, with this swindle, leaving the States powerless, and The People empowered to do anything they wanted, thus destroying the fundamental balance of power and creating a Democracy in place of a Republic. Who understands that The States, stripped of power and having no authority beyond their own borders, have since fought a retreating action that has been, and will always be a losing effort?  The 17th was a literal coup d’etat, in which one of the three partners to the Compact was cut out of the deal. Where else will you hear speaker after speaker reinforce the understanding that you already have – but virtually none of your neighbors have – that the USA has reached this edge of the abyss, this depth of depravity because of one simple problem – the Servant has become the Master. Romans 14:4 says, “To their own master, servants stand or fall.” The States lost mastery with the 17th Amendment.  The assault upon the Constitution was overwhelming, as the agents of Karl Marx stood on either side and guided Woodrow Wilson through a blinding series of tactical maneuvers which shredded our Constitution and left a federal government answerable only to a Congress elected by popular vote – and the voters susceptible...
