Independence: the South’s only option

Independence: the South’s only option
How are things going for you, Mr. and Mrs. Southerner? You are being forced into a “health care” system—ObamaCare–designed to provide worse service for more money; you are being spied on by the NSA and told it is for your own security; you are being (or soon will be) monitored from the skies by domestic drones; you are being slowly and surely deprived of your rights to own firearms and defend yourselves; you are being demographically displaced by Third World aliens with the open aid and sanction of the DC government; you are being told that you are a vile “racist” if you don’t accept tolerance, diversity, and multiculturalism; you are being forced to give your tacit consent to the killing of millions of unborn children every year; you are being forced to accept homosexual “marriage” as normal; you are watching the faith of your Christian fathers be driven from the public square; you are being deprived of your wealth through inflation; you are being robbed blind by the cabal of international bankers; and you are being told that it is “patriotic” to send your sons and daughters off to fight wars against “enemies” who actually pose no threat to the USA. But hey, at least you still live in “the freest country in the world.” I haven’t heard much from old Lee “God Bless the USA” Greenwood lately, have you? But there is a man who got it right forty-something years ago and that was then-Alabama Governor George C. Wallace. He proclaimed that there was not a dime’s worth of difference between the Democrats and Republicans. And in an indirect way, Wallace was telling us that looking to Washington, DC, was a futile exercise, especially for his naturally conservative fellow Southerners. Wait . . . you mean that a conservative GOP victory at the polls in 2014 and/or 2016 won’t turn all this around and make the USA right and whole again? No, Mr. and Mrs. Southerner, it won’t. In fact, most of the things being inflicted on you now (see list above) have been pushed by both major parties on the national level. If you are a “conservative,” as most Southerners claim to be, you have been fooled. But when you come to understand the nature of modern conservatism, it will all begin to make sense to...

The proper response to tyranny

The proper response to tyranny is to oppose it with every resource at your command. After all, its design is to destroy you. But if you’re an average Southerner with a job and family, how do you oppose tyranny? That’s what we will explore. But first, let me give you an inspiring example of opposing tyranny when you are young and free of the responsibilities of job and family. Once upon a time, young men of the West courageously went off to fight real tyranny—communism–in foreign lands. Let me give you an example that’s close to my heart—the once beautiful and fruitful country of Rhodesia. AN HISTORIC EXAMPLE In 1979, the British government, supported by the United States and the Western world in general, forced the conservative, pro-western administration of Prime Minister Ian Smith to cede control of Rhodesia to the forces of communist tyranny. White controlled Rhodesia thus became black communist controlled Zimbabwe in the following year. The infamous Lancaster House Agreement, which included as signatories the Soviet- and Chinese communist-backed Patriotic Front leaders Robert Mugabe (first and only President of Zimbabwe), head of ZANU—Zimbabwe African National Union–and Joshua Nkomo, head of ZAPU—Zimbabwe African Peoples Union—literally was a death warrant for the “Breadbasket of Africa” and eventually for thousands of white farm families who were unable to leave the country. What once had been a stable and productive civilized Western country in the middle of Africa became a leftist hell hole unable to sustain its own economic needs. Though their respective governments stood as enemies to white Rhodesia (and to white South Africa as well), many a young man from the West answered the call and shouldered a FN-FAL in the 1970s to fight tyranny in the dark heart of Africa. And so it remains to this day. IN OUR OWN DAY “Wait,” you say. “The Bush War in Southern Africa was over more than three decades ago. Why do you say ‘so it remains to this day’?” My answer is simply this: Our western young men answered the clarion call then to defend their civilization in that far-flung land. If we are to indeed preserve the core—the very heart of the West—then they are going to have to answer that call for volunteers once again in our own day. Remember: the proper response to tyranny is to...

For Kith and Kin

For Kith and Kin
“Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.” – Abraham Lincoln, Gettysburg Address, 19 November 1863 The League of the South, unlike the progressive USA regime, is not wedded to a universal proposition–equality, democracy, or the rights of man–but to a real historical order based on blood and soil, kith and kin. Ignoring the history of the settlement of North America, progressives insist that the United States is a “proposition nation.” By that they refer to the opening line of Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address and allow Lincoln’s silly and false assertion to re-write American history and make the United States the carrier of a revolutionary philosophy that our ancestors would have rejected with contempt. Those men and women understood, of course, that lasting nations arise organically, from religion, people, soil, and tradition. Abstraction or Reality? But for the past half-century, both liberal Democrats and neo-conservative Republicans have worked to discredit nature: that a human’s first temporal allegiance is to kith and kin. These self-appointed social engineers are trying to reshape Creation according to their own false notions of good and evil. Attempting to rebuild the Tower of Babel, they would nullify the Biblical and historical reality of true nationhood. Southerners once commonly understood that a nation is not some abstract theory or proposition. Such threads are too weak to bind a nation. Only blood and shared tradition supplies that cement. As Southerner Stark Young wrote in So Red the Rose, “It’s not to our credit to think we began today and it’s not to our glory to think we end today. All through time we keep coming in to the shore like waves, like waves. You stick to your blood, son; there’s a fierceness in blood that can bind you up with a long community of life.” Long before Stark Young, Patrick Henry, the greatest of the American Founders, had already recognized this. “We are descended from a people whose government was founded on liberty; our glorious grandfathers of Great Britain made liberty the foundation of everything. We draw that spirit of liberty from our British ancestors.” Buried Under Strangers Today, totalitarians of all stripes champion “equality” by pushing for an “open door” immigration policy to the...
